Brown leather on a dark timber frame, delivered already built.
The Onda chair in brown leather, part of the Onda dining range we sell from Ballincollig. In a smaller home every chair has to earn its floor space, so here are the questions worth asking first.
How much room does it take?
| Dimension | mm | cm |
|---|---|---|
| Width | 630 | 63 |
| Depth | 555 | 55.5 |
| Height | 750 | 75 |
| Seat height | 490 | 49 |
| Seat width | 490 | 49 |
| Seat depth | 480 | 48 |
At 630mm across, it’s wider than a lot of dining chairs, so count your table before you count chairs. Allowing a little elbow room, two a side is comfortable at 1.8 metres; three a side wants a table of around two metres.
Will it tuck under my table?
Partly. The chair is 750mm tall, the same as most dining table tops, so the seat slides under and the back stays out. In a tight room, allow the chair’s full 555mm depth plus a little when you’re planning the walkway.
Is the seat the right height?
The seat is 490mm off the floor. With a standard 750mm table that leaves about 26cm between seat and table top, which is a normal dining gap.
What’s it made of?
Leather upholstery over foam and polyester fibre, on a timber and plywood frame in a dark charcoal-brown finish.
Is leather sensible if the chair has to do everything?
Leather changes as it’s used: it softens and picks up a little character along the way. Some people love that and some don’t. If you want a chair that looks exactly as it did on the first day, leather may not suit you; the Onda Dining Chair Natural is the same chair in a natural-toned fabric.
Does it need assembling?
No. It comes in one box, built, at about 14kg as packed.
Which table goes with it?
It’s from the same range as the Onda Extending Dining Table and the Onda Oval Extending Dining Table, and the Onda 4 Door Sideboard carries the same dark finish onto the wall.
Can I try one before I buy?
Ask about the Onda when you call in. We keep plenty of dining chairs out, and if this one isn’t among them that week, we’ll describe the leather and the frame honestly and order it in. Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968. Monday to Saturday, 9.30am–5pm. Closed Sundays. No appointment needed; nobody will hurry you. Get directions
