Oppo Bar Stool Green (Set of 2)

Two green stools for the island, for when the chairs run out.

Sold as a pair, these Oppo stools come in green fabric with oval backs and black metal legs, and every measurement listed is for one of the two. Their 650mm seat height suits an island or breakfast counter at ordinary worktop height. They’re part of the Oppo range, with matching dining chairs, and we sell them from the showroom in Ballincollig, near Cork city.

The extra-seat question

The table seats six, and tonight there are eight: the four of you, and two neighbours who came in for one drink and stayed for the pasta. Someone does the maths, and the answer is always the same: the late arrivals go to the island.

That’s where a good pair of stools earns its keep. Two more proper seats, with backs to lean against while the chat goes on, that look like part of the kitchen rather than something brought down from the attic. On a normal Tuesday they’re just where you have your coffee.

About the colour

The green is on the seat and back only; the frame is black. Next to oak it looks warm and a bit country. Against a white or pale grey kitchen it’s the one bit of colour in the room, which is often exactly what that kitchen wanted. With dark units, it’s quieter than you’d think.

Will they suit your counter?

A 650mm seat wants a counter of around 90 to 95cm, standard kitchen height. A raised bar at 100 to 110cm is too tall for these.

Timing

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

A few questions

How many fit along an island?
Allow about 60cm per stool. A 1.2-metre island takes this pair; 1.8 metres takes three.

Are they bar stools or counter stools?
Counter height, despite the name. The seat is 65cm off the floor.

Will green date?
That’s your call more than ours. If you’re unsure, the stool also comes in charcoal and in a natural fabric.
