Pale marble, warm light, the chair everyone makes for first.

Eight o'clock on a Friday. The dining table is set for later, the first people have arrived and nobody has sat down yet except one, in the good chair, with a glass resting on a small pale table beside her. That's the Amalfi.

It's a round side table in solid marble, Natural finish, 40cm across and 50cm high. Top and base are stone, with a curved shoulder where they meet. It weighs 34kg, which is why it's the table for the chair that doesn't move. Beside the sofa it's a touch above the arm; beside an armchair it's exactly where a lamp and a drink want to be.

What does Natural look like?

A pale, warm-toned marble with its own veining. It's the lightest of the four Amalfi colours after White, and the most forgiving beside mixed woods.

Is this one heavier than the others?

Slightly. It's 34kg, against 29–31kg for the other colours. Two people to carry it in.

Will it work as a bedside table?

It can. 50cm is a comfortable height beside most beds, and 40cm across takes a lamp and a glass of water. There's no drawer or shelf, so it suits the tidy side of the bed.

How do I clean it?

Warm water and a soft cloth. Wipe wine and citrus straight away, and keep harsh cleaners off it.

Does it arrive assembled?

Yes, in one box. There's nothing to fit.
