Cirella Side Table Rust

Rust where the cream was: the same ridged concrete, now the warm one.

Against the Cirella in cream, the rust version is the same casting in every way but colour: 40cm wide, 40cm deep, 45cm high, glass-fibre reinforced concrete, the ridged body and sectioned top, 27.5kg, no assembly. The glaze is a rust brown, which does what cream cannot: it holds its own against a dark sofa and brings warmth to a grey room. The cream disappears politely into a pale scheme; the rust is the thing your eye lands on when the lamps are low and the drinks are poured.

Dimensions

Is rust a red or a brown?

A brown with red in it, close to terracotta that has been fired dark. It sits with olive, navy, cream and most wood tones.

Does the glaze chip?

It is a fired glaze over a concrete body and is hard-wearing in normal use. Dropping a heavy object on an edge could chip it, as with any ceramic finish.

Will it suit a bedroom?

At 40cm wide and 45cm high it works as a bedside beside a lower bed, with no drawer and plenty of room for the lamp and the glass.

Can I move it easily?

It is 27.5kg, so two hands and a bent knee. Once it is placed it tends to stay placed.

What goes with it

The Cirella Side Table Cream and the Cirella Side Table Verde are the same table in the other two glazes; rust and verde together is the warmest pairing of the three.
