Craft Dining Chair Mocha (Set of 2)

Sold as a pair: two Mocha oak chairs for the Craft table.

Two chairs come in the box; every measurement below is for one. The Craft Dining Chair in Mocha is the Craft range in its deep brown finish: turned legs, back spindles and a gently shaped seat, in oak and oak-veneered MDF. It’s drawn from the same range as the Craft tables, bench and sideboard, and at our showroom in Ballincollig we can talk you through how a whole room of it goes together.

The weekly dinner

Sunday at six, or whatever your version is: the same people, the same places, the one who always takes the chair by the window. Chairs at a table like that get pulled out, pushed back and leaned on every single week, so the things worth checking are the plain ones. Is the seat wide enough? Does it slide under the table? Does the back stop at the right height?

Mocha chairs at a Natural table give you two tones of the same wood; at a Smoked table they sit closer in colour. Which you prefer is your call, and it’s far easier to judge in daylight than on a screen.

Room to pull a chair out

Allow about 60cm of table edge per chair, and roughly 90cm behind each one so people can pull out and sit down without scraping the wall. At 54cm wide, a Craft chair fits inside that 60cm comfortably. At 76cm tall, the back finishes about level with a 75cm Craft table top when the chair is pushed in.

Building the room

Three ways people build a room around these chairs. Four pairs at the Craft Dining Table in Natural, which is listed to seat eight, for a two-tone look. Two pairs plus the Craft Dining Bench in Smoked down one side, for more people in less floor. And the Craft 4 Door Sideboard in Smoked against the wall, for the serving dishes and the glasses. Count your regulars before anything else, then measure the room.

Getting the feel right

The showroom is at Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968. Come in and sit at a few of our tables and chairs to get the height and the feel right before you choose. We can show you the Mocha finish and talk through the sizes, and if the Craft chair isn’t out that week, we’ll order a pair in for you. Monday to Saturday, 9.30am–5pm; closed Sundays. Delivery times

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay. Republic of Ireland only.

Good questions

Will they tuck under a Craft table?
The Craft tables have 72cm clear underneath and the seat is 46.5cm high, so the seat slides in under the top with room for knees.

How many go round the Craft Dining Table?
The 180cm Craft Dining Table is listed to seat eight, so four pairs.

Can I mix Mocha and Natural?
Yes. It’s the same chair in two finishes, and a Natural pair at the ends of a Mocha row is a reasonable thing to do.
