The Iowa Dining Table in Natural is 200cm by 100cm of mango wood and mango wood veneer, and it seats six. It’s a big table, so the useful question is whether your room takes it; bring your measurements to our Ballincollig showroom if you’d like a second opinion.

The measurements

At about 60cm a person, 200cm gives three a side with a little to spare. The legs are 182cm apart, so nobody in the middle of a long side is sitting astride a leg, and the 160cm Iowa bench slides in between them. There’s 66cm from floor to the underside of the top; check any chair with arms against that figure. For the room, add about 90cm behind each chair to pull it out: that’s a space roughly 2.8m wide for a table 1m wide.

Where it works, and where it doesn’t

It suits a long kitchen-diner or a dining room of about 3.2m or more in length, so there’s a walkway at each end. If eight or ten sit down at your place most weekends, an extending table will serve you better; if the room is small and square, a round table leaves more floor. We can talk you through both.

Living with it

Mango wood is a lively timber: the grain and colour change along the top, and it moves slightly as the heating goes on and off. Put mats under hot dishes and wipe up spills rather than leaving them. After a long lunch that turns into an evening, that’s the full care routine.

Delivery

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Questions people ask

Is it all solid wood? It’s mango wood with mango wood veneer. We don’t describe it as solid throughout.

How many chairs do I need? Six, or four chairs and an Iowa bench in Natural along one side.

Does the bench really fit under? Yes: 160cm of bench between legs 182cm apart, and 45cm of bench under 66cm of clearance.

What sideboard goes with it? The Iowa 4 Door Sideboard in Natural matches; the Whitewash version gives contrast.

Will it get through my door? It arrives with the legs off, which helps. Measure your narrowest doorway and tell us; we’ll check it against the box.
