Round for four, and it opens when the doorbell goes again.
Coffee’s poured, three of you are sitting down, and then the doorbell goes: a neighbour with a tart nobody asked for. Nobody wants to break off the conversation to go looking for space. You open the table out, put the tart in the middle, find one more cup. The talk picks up where it stopped.
That’s the job of the Malvern Round Extending Dining Table, one of the round tables we sell from Ballincollig: 1.1 metres across and seating four, in oak, oak veneer and rubberwood with a natural finish. It opens to 1,550mm.
The table itself
- Round top, 1.1 metres across
- Opens to 1,550mm
- Seats four
- Oak and oak veneer over rubberwood and MDF
- Natural finish, matching the rest of the Malvern range
- Legs to fit on arrival; one box, about 37kg packed
Will it fit?
| Dimension | mm | cm |
|---|---|---|
| Diameter, closed | 1,100 | 110 |
| Extended | 1,550 | 155 |
| Height | 750 | 75 |
| Between the legs | 615 | 61.5 |
Closed, a round table this size wants roughly 2.9 metres square once you allow 90cm for chairs on every side. Open, add about 45cm in one direction.
Chairs and storage from the same range
Two pairs of Malvern Dining Chairs make the four. For the wall, the 90cm-wide Malvern 1 Door 4 Drawer Sideboard suits the smaller room a round table often lives in, or there’s the longer Malvern 2 Door 3 Drawer Sideboard.

Round table questions
Does it seat six when it’s open?
It’s listed for four. The extra length gives room for dishes and a looser four, and we’d rather not promise six.
Is it solid oak?
It’s oak and oak veneer; rubberwood and MDF make up the rest of the construction.
Will a round table suit a narrow kitchen?
A round top has no corners to catch a hip on, which helps where people walk past. At 1.1 metres it still needs its space, so check the 2.9-metre figure above against your room.
Any question, any at all: email info@mulberryhouse.ie and a person in the showroom will answer it.
Open it out; keep the talk going.
