Eight people, six chairs, one kitchen in Cork. The two who arrived last end up on stools at the kitchen counter, a step back from the table, and within ten minutes they’re the pair everyone is talking to. The salad goes across to them, then the bread, then whatever cheese was left.

What they are

A pair of Whitney bar stools in natural elm: a wishbone back, a seat woven by hand from kraft-paper cord, and a matte lacquer finish. Two stools in the box; the dimensions are for one.

Sizes, for one stool

A 65cm seat sits under a worktop of about 90–95cm. Give each stool around 60cm of counter so the two of you aren’t bumping arms.

Natural elm in a kitchen

Elm has an open, visible grain and a warm tone. Next to a white kitchen it brings warmth without adding another colour; next to oak it sits alongside rather than matching, since they’re different woods. If your table is going to join in, the same wishbone back comes on the Whitney dining chair in natural and the Whitney dining chair in black, so the counter and the table can talk to each other.

Delivery

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

Asked about the natural Whitney

Can I buy a single stool? They’re sold in pairs only.

How do I look after a woven seat? Keep it dry. Blot spills as they happen with a lightly damp cloth, and let it air afterwards.

Is anything different from the black version apart from colour? No. Same stool, same sizes; only the finish changes.
