The Wycombe bench is 130cm of solid oak and oak veneer, finished black, and it seats two or three. In plenty of Cork kitchens it’s how two more people fit along the wall side without anyone pulling a chair into the doorway. At 36cm deep it takes very little floor, and the 46cm seat leaves about 29cm under a 75cm table. Two adults sit easily; three works for children, or for friends who don’t mind being close.

Where it earns its place, and where it won’t
Along the wall side of a table, where chairs would need pulling out into space you don’t have. At the Wycombe Dining Table Black, which it matches. At the Wycombe Extending Dining Table opened to two metres, with chairs at the ends and three smaller people lined up along the bench.
Where it won’t: anyone who would rather have a back to lean against is better given a chair, and the Wycombe dining chair in black matches. A bench also means the people on it get in and out together, which is fine for a family and a bit awkward for guests who’ve only just met.

Living with a black bench
Oak moves slightly with the heating in its first winter, which is the timber settling. A black finish shows dust and crumbs more than a pale one, so run a dry cloth along it after meals. If the joints feel a little loose after the first months of use, check and nip up the fixings.
Delivery
Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

How many does it seat? Two to three.
Will it go under the table when it’s not in use? Height-wise, yes: at 46cm it sits well below the 72.8cm clearance under the black Wycombe table. Whether it slides between the legs depends on which side it goes, so email us and we’ll check the fit for you.
Is there assembly? Yes, and it comes in one box.
