A 150cm table in black oak that seats six in a modest room.

The black Wycombe is a 150cm by 90cm dining table in solid oak and oak veneers, and it seats six. It’s for a smaller home where the table has to fit the room and still take everyone, and we sell it from our showroom in Ballincollig, Co. Cork.

Will it fit a small dining room?

Dimension mm cm
Length 1,500 150
Width 900 90
Height 750 75
Clearance under the top 728 72.8
Distance between legs 760 76

With 90cm behind the chairs on every side, it needs about 3.3m by 2.7m. Push one long side against the wall and seat people on the other three, and it drops to about 3.3m by 1.8m, which is where a lot of kitchen-diners land.

How many does it seat?

Six: two down each side, with about 75cm each, and one at each end.

What is it made of?

Solid oak and oak veneers, in black, with the legs in a matte painted finish.

Is there room for knees?

There’s 72.8cm from the floor to the underside of the top, and 76cm between the legs, so a chair tucks in between them without a fight.

How much putting together?

Only the legs go on. It comes in one box, about 35kg packed.

Will a black table make a small room feel smaller?

A black table draws a clear outline, which can actually help a small room look ordered. Pale walls and a light floor keep it from feeling heavy.

What goes with it?

The Wycombe bench on the wall side saves floor. The Wycombe chairs in black come in pairs. For the glasses and the good dishes, there’s the three-door sideboard or the taller open display.

Where’s the showroom?

At Heritage Walk, The Quadrants, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, P31 W968, Monday to Saturday, 9.30am–5pm; closed Sundays. No appointment. Bring the measurements of your room; we’ll talk the sizes through with you and show you the black finish. Get directions
