In a dining room outside Cork, the serving dishes live on the second shelf. When friends come, they come down one by one, go round the table full and come back empty, and whoever is clearing knows exactly where each one goes. The big salad bowl lives on the top shelf; the stack of side plates sits below it, ready.

What it is

The Wycombe Open Display is a four-shelf oak unit, 120cm wide and 160cm tall, with oak-veneered shelves on a solid oak frame and tapered legs in a matte painted finish. The shelves are fixed. It’s part of the Wycombe range, with a sideboard and tables to match.

At 160cm it’s shoulder height on most adults, easy to reach the top shelf without a step. Tall platters up to about 35cm stand upright on the shelves behind a row of bowls.

Delivery

Allow around four weeks. Delivered across Cork and nationwide, or collected from the showroom in Ballincollig at no charge. We’ll confirm your delivery date before you pay.

A few answers

Can the shelves be moved? No, they’re fixed at 39.4cm apart.

Does it need fixing to the wall? Yes. An anti-topple kit is supplied; at 160cm, fixing it to the wall is sensible.

Is it only for a dining room? No. Books, plants and ornaments suit it just as well in a living room or hall.
